Thanks for all your input, I enjoy and use so many of your suggestions. I am constantly trying out new stuff, and I never get bored...anyway, finally, I am getting some recognition for the class, (not much I still have miles to go), ie, since it is an elective students will not put much effort into it so to keep the class alive and yet still teach I have to spend hours being creative.
I recently was told by the librarian that she had some funds for my class!!!!!!!!!!!!!!and she suggested the Handbook of 21st Century Sociology, a two volume set which looks very interesting to me. However, it is a $300.00 investment which is a great deal for "us HS peons". After viewing the flier, I felt it would be inefficient, (one book for a class of 20 students). Also, the content appeared to be on a much higher level than I feel my classses are at this time.
I would like your input, has anyone had experience with the handbook, if so, how did you use it? Do you have any suggestions for a good set of lesson plans? I would like to get the teaching sociology volumes, but I am not sure which ones, since I would need most of the basic, ie, what is soc, imagination, theory, interaction, etc. Thanks for any input.
