Hi Keith, I haven't thought of that technology in years. But, it might work.
Not that it would be too practical in the real world, but do you think it would be possible to develop a completely interactive real time remote interface to a gps device using the technologies you've described. If you could do something of that complexity, you could probably control almost any app that the pi can run. However, I don't know how you would create a real time varying display output, like a moving map, etc., using a web page strategy. This example is just hypothetical. But, there are many applications where you'd need dynamic alterable buttons and onscreen controls, with dynamic alterable touch sensitive zones, and real time varying screen output, all at the same time.
(PS I understand if you can't get trapped in a long discussion at the moment.)
