A terrible version of the 1% has been brought up in the Senate, read below:
-----------------
ONE-CENT SALES TAX:
During the entire legislative session HF 660 has been known as the one-cent sales tax
bill which would provide school infrastructure funds statewide. Now Senator Larry
McKibben has introduced SSB 3183 that would begin the process of replacing the local
option sales tax for schools with a statewide one cent sales tax for property tax
relief (unless voters choose to use the money for school infrastructure). Districts
located in counties that don't currently have the one cent local option sales tax for
school infrastructure could only impose the extra penny for school infrastructure by
getting a 60% majority on a ballot initiative. This bill is definitely worse than HF
660 and needs to be vigorously opposed!

Please contact Larry McKibben at: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Also contact Mary Kramer at: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Tell them your feelings on SSB 3183. Also contact your local Senator and tell them to
pass the state wide sales tax with NO major changes!!!!

We need a big push in both the House and Senate and don't forget the Governor!!!!!
