Item 2

SF 2228

PPEL Purchases  -  Bill #2  As passed the Senate, this bill would lower the permissible minimum purchase from $1,500 and allow districts to purchase technology as opposed to just current law of "technology systems".  In addition the bill would have allowed districts to spend general fund dollars for PPEL purposes such as constructing a building.  A House Education Committee amendment would strike the use of general fund dollars for PPEL purposes.

On House calendar with committee amendment.

Passed the Senate

Right now the $10 M  is still in.  But who knows I look for if it does stay it will be subject ot the same conditions under which it was restored during the special session but who knows.  Situation is still fluid.  Will know more in about 2 weeks.

Hope this helps you    John O

John,

A couple of questions.
1.  How is the 10M for school tech riding through the legislature?
2.  How is the redefinition of PPEL allowed purchases going?

I know you are busy, so take care.
