Greetings, This is just a heads-up that media specialists, tech coordinators, curriculum specialists, principals, and superintendents will be receiving the first packet of catalogs from the software coop for the 02-03 school year. My apologies to the principals that aren't getting this email, as I have just discovered I am not currently a member of their listserv, so I can't post a message to it.
The software web site has changed this year. All state-wide coops from software to food will be linked from the new Iowa Educator's Consortium web site: www.iec-ia.org Please watch for the catalogs and forward the information to the most interested staff. Current active coops: AV/computers, Food, Office/Instructional Materials, Software, Nurses/Health Supplies, Janitorial supplies are available on both the food and the office coop listings. Coops under current development: Winter paper, art, and clay The IEC does not yet have a schedule for offering all the coops that AEA 5 schools have been used to getting. We continue to work on that looming service reduction problem. In terms of local cooperative efforts, AEA 5 printing and graphic prices were reduced an average of 15% for the 2002-03 school year. Also, due to the collaborative efforts between AEA 3, AEA 4, AEA 5, and Iowa Central to aggregate ICN data circuits, there will be no increased data circuit fees assessed to AEA 5 schools (using ICN data circuits) this fiscal year, providing we stay at the planned bandwidth usage.
