I recommend the Illinois Air National Guard. They used to do government
agencies as training. They did my backbone between building about 14 years ago.
I supplied the parts, cable and lunch. They provided the labor and machinery
for free.

I don't know if they are still doing it. The wars may be giving them plenty of
practice. They used to be based at the Military Airlift Command at O'Hare but
move to Springfield a number of years ago.

I ran about a mile and a half a couple years ago to connect three buildings.
Used Tharp's LTD out of Oquawka, IL for the boring and G & H Communications
Services for all the splicing. I believe it was $7 per foot to bore and 75
cents to blow in the fiber. Did a very clean job. Could hardly tell they were
even there after the job was done.

I would be glad to get you contact info if you need it.

For those of you that have had fiber installed for your schools do you have
some companies to recommend? Preferably looking for companies in south
central IL area. Any other pointers or tips or issues to watch for?
Plan is to connect 2 buildings that are about 2 blocks apart via underground
fiber. I would need the internal parts ran as well.
Thanks in advance!
