As him for his name, the name of his company, and have him repeat what he just said while you turn on the recorder. Tell him that your next call will be to ISBE to inquire about his claim and his company. If he is on the "up and up" he will gladly supply you with that information and invite a call to ISBE. If he is not, then call the better business bureau to file a complaint.

Quoting Aaron Souza <[email protected]>:

All,

I get a call from some computer security company today asking: "When's the last time you had a security audit?

I go on and say we do things in house the best we can, etc. His response is that it's Illinois school board law that we must have a computer security audit.

So I'm trying to call his bluff-- anyone know of any Illinois / State Board of Ed law requiring computer security audits, etc?

Have a great weekend.

-Aaron
