I am working on a Joomla and I basically want 3 "groups" of users. I want a
"public" group that unregistered users fall into when the visit the site and
do not log in. This is no problem. I want group "A" that will have to log
in and they will get a "group A" menu with some items on it. I also want a
group "B" that will log in and get a "group B" menu. Here is the issue -
NEITHER group "A" or group "B" should have the rights to post information to
the Joomla site. I can make the "A" group the "registered" users and that
does it for them - but then what about group "B"? I was thinking I could
just make them "authors" but then they have the ability to post stories -
and that is a problem. If I could take the rights to post away from the
"authors" then that would fix it. Either that or I need some sort of
grouping that allows me to group the users. I have seen some group ACL
extensions, but they require typing code in when you post the story to make
that part of the story appear or not appear for users in certain groups -
that does not fit with what I want.
Any Ideas?
