Might look at Akeeba Backup: http://extensions.joomla.org/extensions/access-a-security/backup/1606
It installed fine on my Joomla (1.5 running on a Ubuntu server) and it made a backup fine. I have not taken it through the restore process, but the reviews said it works fine as well. The neat think is that this will not ONLY get all your files but it ALSO grabs the database and packs it all in one place. It sounds like the restor puts it all back the way it was. If you go this route let me know. Like I said I AM backing stuff up - I want to know if the restore works well! ----- Original Message ----- From: Haffer, Rick To: [email protected] Sent: Thursday, July 15, 2010 11:23 AM Subject: [tech-geeks] for the joomla fans Well, it is now time to move my Joomla and its db to the ROE's GoDaddy account. (And let's not get into what a crappy hosting site GoDaddy can be to navigate around.I know it is) For anyone who has done this move before ( not necc to godaddy) where did you find the best information, and do you have any tips. And do you know if phpMyAdmin comes with SME? Mucho Thanks for any help. Richard G.
