A few nights ago the PTO in my district proposed an idea of placing ads onto the district website as a way to generate money that can be used to fund programs within the district. My first inclination is to run fast away from this idea but with everyone and everybody hurting for money these days....
Is there anyone out there that currently has paid advertising somewhere on their website? How did the school community and the community-at-large react to the presence of ads? Is this even possible in Illinois? I read an article in USA Today about Arizona doing this - their legislature had to pass a bill before district were allowed to sell ads.
