Geez, do I know THAT feeling ("And I really don't have all that much to say.
=)").
I think the problem with running out and setting up Twitter and Facebook
accounts is that in order to use either of these Social Network resources well,
you have sink some time into it. You have to think about what media work best
on these sites. What is most useful, and what, as a information consumer on
those sites would tell you is truly annoying about the bad posts, or bad sites
to be found there.
As I think I said before, both the District 100 Facebook page and the District
100 Twitter account seem merely to parrot the same events that are being
updated on our website (and every 160-char message ends with a bit.ly or a
tinyurl.net link back to the District website). Which... okay... presuming
parents don't visit our website but are perpetually checking Twitter and
Facebook, I guess I can see the value. I'm not in charge of keeping the
Webserver content updated, Thank Goodness (just keeping it online, keeping it
secure, etc.).
But then... having these accounts means establishing greater responsibility for
having and keeping MORE sites updated. And for those of us struggling to do
what we're already committed to doing, why commit to something new, when you
are already fully aware that you're going to be doing something new at the
quality level of "poorly"?
My $0.02,
David

I'm with Richard. We don't have one, and I don't need one more thing
to do. By process of elimination, I would be the one that had to
maintain and update it. And I really don't have all that much to say.
