I believe that sndio is a step in the right direction although I wanted to address multiple sounds with linux emulation(primarily oss) and pre compiled binaries that use sun/oss/netbsd audio. Please checkout ftp.netbsd.org/pub/NetBSD/misc/nat/nextaudio3-kern.diff Best regards, Nat.
