Freenet cannot work as a real-time point-to-point network. It is a 
distributed file cache. There are ways in which you could emulate 
point-to-point operation, but it would be very slow.

Most tasks, however, CAN be performed efficiently using Freenet as the 
communication medium, because fully real-time operation is not necessary.

If actual real-time operation is important to you, then you should 
probably look up IIP (Invisible IRC Protocol) and Fling 
(http://fling.sourceforge.net).

I think you are confusing Freenet with IIP (Invisible IRC Protocol). IIP 
is not connected to Freenet in any way. It is a separate network with a 
different design.
