You have had the issues that I have been talking about for a long time. Without a
clearly defined server map, then the client will never get the information it needs.
To stretch the TTL to a much higher number and thread it better with more timeouts, it
only adds to the overhead of your connection to a point that it just won't work
efficiently.
I have been considering that the only way to speed up Freenet at this point is to
change the client to allow other protocols to be called directly from within the
program. Such as, Kazaa's network be searchable as a source for data that Freenet
can't find.
Freenet lost its place on my harddrive a while back and now I just sit on this list
monitoring it. If you could setup email for me on Freenet so that I could receive
messages, then you would have me.
