Something just occurred to me:

Although you can't harvest connectable noderefs, or even IP addresses,
on the darknet, you CAN, with the new HTL proposals, and with swapping,
record every location you ever see. This does not help you very much as
an attacker, but it could give an estimate of the size of the network.

Just a thought.
