Ooh-err. I've actually started writing a Java Freemail type system for 0.7 over Easter weekend (which I haven't said anything about thus far lest it fail miserably and I get people's hopes up without reason). I'm definitely thinking that applying for SoC might be a very good idea (and this year will be my last chance). Those two facts may or may not be related. I don't want to steal NextGen$'s project, and as I say I could submit something completely different for SoC. Of course having one implementation doesn't mean there can't be another. I'd also be more than happy to collaborate, although SoC projects have to be undertaken by individuals. That said, two individuals have two different parts of the same program as their project. I'm sure we can figure something out anyhow.
