there are credit/Incentive based systems for mesh networks:

S. Zhong, J. Chen, and Y. Yang, ?Sprite: A Simple, Cheat-proof, Credit-
based System for Mobile Ad-hoc Networks,? Proc. of IEEE Infocom?03,
2003.
S. Zhong, L. Li, Y. Liu and Y. Yang, ?On Designing Incentive-compatible
Routing and Forwarding Protocols in Wireless Ad-hoc Networks? Wire-
less Networks, Vol. 13, pages 799?816, 2007.

but they need a node that that handle all the transactions witch is a faulty
model now that we have bitcoin
but bitcoin dose not work in a dtn/MANET network

Financial incentives seem to have done well for Bitcoin and other altcoins, so
it makes since to do something like Freenet with a similar structure. But
AFAIK, they don't have a credible way to track bandwidth peer to peer. ?With
out that, it seems like it will never work.
