I don't. My only aim was to find out if there is some _explicit_ documentation that specifies that this is a permanent change, or to see if anyone was aware of perhaps a simple configuration tweak to correct this before I tell an entire department of programmers and sysadmins, "You're doing it wrong." So after exhausting Google, manpages, source repository commit logs and change logs, I decided to send an email to the Tech list of LOPSA. And instead of just the simple, respectful, "Well, it's a POSIX standard, but other than that I'm not aware of anything" from Adam (thank you, Adam), I instead get "RTFM n00b". Lesson learned. Won't make that mistake again. (And can't say I will recommend the LOPSA community to anyone else based on this experience, either.) end transmission.
