I absolutely adore my Etymotic hf5s. If I were in your situation, the
first thing I would look at would be a pair of Ety hf3s.

I have read that the only tangible difference between the two are the
addition of a microphone and controls on the hf3. The hf5s isolate like
a sensory deprivation tank and sound great to boot.
