How about a stunnel reverse proxy port? Have the important system
setup a tunnel back to the Zabbix server which the server can talk to
the client over?
Like I said, long story. It's a kernel problem. Kernel won't allow any more
daemons to bind any port on any IP address. Can't start any new daemons, even
if they were reverse tunneled or whatever. There is no problem with opening
the firewall for that port on that IP; it just won't do any good because the
daemon won't start.
Can't speak for others but I'd love to hear that story some day.
