What's wrong with using the 10G aqua-colored with 1G multimode?

nothing at all. 50micron is almost always a better choice. You'll get more distance out of it. (Unless saving a few $$ is your main objective). The Aqua cable is specifically designed with characteristics for the center of the fiber. 10g obviously needs more signal bandwidth and the center of the OM3/OM4 aqua cable is specially engineered to remove bubbles that may occur in older manufacturing processes (62.5micron). Newer lasers tend to be more focused, and the better fabrication is especially helpful if you are getting to the longer end of the SX range spectrum (up to 300-500m depending upon manufacturer and tranceiver). If you are just running < 10m jumpers, it doesn't matter at all.

for 1g you can get 2km on the 50micron stuff.
