I'm trying to assess whether retrieval steps are solely for one of your prowess 
or for more mortal beings. If the latter, then some implementations (such as 
command line requirements) are beyond the target audience. 

I'm in the latter boat. FWIW, I use a Synology Diskstation for my home backup, 
and have decided to start backing up to Amazon in the next week. As they have 
added Amazon Glacier support this year, to the existing S3 support, your post 
is a catalyst that reminded me it's already July and I'm overdue. The Synology 
has built in support in the GUI, so I expect to have less pain learning it and 
- more importantly - showing the setup to my family and getting them 
comfortable with it.
