Yup, the author mentioned his tool in the Q&A immediately after my talk,
and I initially assumed it was Tom's HostDB for managing DNS, but it was
rather an open source CMDB. I spoke with him for a minute after the
presentation but I didn't get a chance to see him later that week about
the tool.
I'm 99% sure this is the project in question:

Naming conflicts with other open source projects aside, I think there is
a dearth of good open source CMDB systems, so I hope this project gets
traction and I hope other people are working on similar tools.
