After telling my boss that and reviving him I gave the hard drive one more shot and got it back up and running. I must have done something right overnight. Anyway I kicked off the backup and had a heart attack when it said it would take over a day to do the back up. I don't have the best backup system in my office. I will though after this mess up.
I have BackupPC running at home and over the past several years it has made it easy to recover from 3 different disk failures. Runs in the middle of the night and does really good deduplication.
