I really like the Myricom’s because they are supported by everything, but the 
Chelsio is faster in my experience.

As for switches, you could in theory get 10GbaseT SPF+ gbics (I think they make 
such a thing) so you don’t need new cards.

Any chance your looking at selling your X650?
