SS just upgraded their GUI but it's still pretty ugly, licensing is
expensive and unless you want to use all features it may not be worth the
cost, and it requires Windows to power the backend.
Despite this we still use it and it does the job well.

As an alternative, http://rattic.org/ is an open source product built by a
couple of Aussies, they did a presentation at LCA2014 and it looks really
promising.
