So you want to add a program that scans you logs searches for 404s , picks out originating IPs and adds them to your firewalls just so you don't have to look at them?
I'd suggest the following command instead. grep -v "\ 404\ " access.log Seriously unless these people are causing an actual problem then installing and maintaining software that parses log files and plays with your firewalls is an"all pain, no gain" idea.
