I would strongly suggest puppet, if you are looking at the open source options, is a vastly better choice than either of the two you listed. (...and, yes, I /do/ still have the scars from using both in production.) You can also purchase commercial support for puppet, although it doesn't have the standard "giant company" attached that your management probably want.
