After reading several man pages like fc-scan, etc.
I found at the bottom:
The fontconfig user's guide, in HTML format:
/usr/share/doc/fontconfig/fontconfig-user.html.
This is not the correct location, which is
/usr/X11R6/share/doc/fontconfig/fontconfig-user.html
