It's really a required part of the audio layer for many uses. Various parts were removed from the kernel because they were moved to sndiod. Hopefully it will back after the cleanup. "don't do that then" ;-) You can use "log to pflog1" for things which you don't want pflogd to see. It might be useful to run newsyslog more frequently if you have small partitions..
