Indeed, Intel made quite a mess in this, but I think this your combination is probably the best one, although we risk to show "Xeon" on user system with high-end Core X cpus. The thing is those makes minority of all the chips in the family and technically they are crippled Xeons anyway,
so if I may I would vote for this diff.
