Well nothing has been committed regarding this crunchgen change.
I hope you're not expecting us to back out other changes which are IMHO
less controversial.

The fact that they dropped ld -dc probably means the new behavior isn't
"systems ready".  OTOH I didn't know about ld -dc being used in
crunchgen either...
