*TITLE: SQL Server/ORACLE DBA*

The Database Administrator supports the implementation of the technology
road map by performing databases development, testing, and build tasks of
software applications. Uses existing methods, tactics, and tools to
implement database related tasks and drive the software life cycle.
Maintains scripted source code and documentation to generate database
schemas, data dictionaries and ER diagrams. Performs ongoing maintenance and
administration of the development and staging databases. Perform
application-related performance and tuning tasks.
*ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES*: (List below major areas of
responsibilities in job in descending order of importance, most important to
least important.)
· Produce logical and physical data models, schemas, and data
dictionaries.
· Collaborate with others to develop store procedures, indexes,
user-defined functions and views to maximize query performance.
· Provide reusable source code templates for accessing the databases and
generating store procedures.
· Perform application-related performance and tuning tasks
· Perform ongoing maintenance and administration of the development and
staging databases
· Perform database capacity planning.
· Ensure that the system and software architectures properly address
persistence.
· Produce the database-related contents of the following deployment and
operations documentation:
· Deployment Plan
· Installation Manual
· Operations Manual
· Disaster Recovery Plan

*QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:*

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree in software engineering or computer science or an
equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 4+ years MS SQL Server experience required, including SQL Server 2005
- 2+ years Oracle experience required
- Practical hands-on training in:
- Data modeling concepts, diagrams, and tools.
- Database management systems.
- Data warehousing concepts and techniques.
- Component models, infrastructures, and interfaces.
- A minimum of 2 year's experience successfully engineering or
administrating large scale databases
- A minimum of 2 year's experience successfully designing and
implementing data and software components for web based ASP application
*SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES*
- Database architecture tasks, techniques, and tools.
- Logical and physical data modeling.
- Database security mechanisms.
- Strong working knowledge of MySQL and Oracle
- XML in SQL databases
- SQL Server Reporting Services
- Data Replication tools and techniques
- Database modeling theory including data normalization, replication,
integrity, and security.
- Object-oriented concepts such as abstraction, encapsulation,
inheritance, and polymorphism.
- Application modeling languages and tools (e.g., UML, OML,
entity-relationship modeling) including the ability to create and read the
associated diagrams.
- Design and implementation of data and software components for web based
ASP applications
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
- Must possess strong team problem solving capability
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both written and
verbal.
