Hello Ubuntu Technical Board,

I hope I'm not overstepping with this e-mail, but I send it as advised on this question: https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/extrepo/+question/819386

So, here is my question: would it be thinkable to allow the Debian Developer who maintain Extrepo (in CC of this mail, again I hope I'm not overstepping) to add the Ubuntu Suites to the config files of the repositories it allows to add?

For the moment, the extrepo package is available in Ubuntu (in universe repository), but it comes with config files that link to Debian Trixie and thus adds repo for this Debian version instead of the Ubuntu version used. And even if you modif the config file to have it point to your Ubuntu version, it won't work because the files describing the available repos only include Debian suites.

This is because the maintainer doesn't want to add Ubuntu suites without your clear approval (as this has implications on your security model). (see https://salsa.debian.org/extrepo-team/extrepo-data/-/merge_requests/315).

Is this something that you could consider ?

When you answer, I'll update the question accordingly so that people searching this can have a clear answer.

Thank you,

Jérémie
