Good Wednesday to you all, or Tuesday in the States. You haven’t quite got there yet, but that’s OK, we all know you’re a little bit slow over there, <huge tongue-in-cheek>
Anyway, I thought some people might be interested to know about a new service that I’m bringing on line. You’re probably already aware of the Mac Access group I started way back in 2007. The reason I started it was because I didn’t like the way other groups were being run at the time, so I decided to have a crack at it myself. And it worked out quite well. So now, Mac Access and Techno-Chat are in their 11th year, I’ve decided to try and broaden our scope a little. Everybody knows how popular Android devices are nowadays. And rightly so. As part of my soon to be launched business venture, I will be offering one-to-one training courses for clients locally using the latest technologies in the field of iOS, MacOS, TVOS and WatchOS from Apple, Android from Google and partners, and also, of course, Windows 10. Microsoft recently announced that Windows 10 will be the final version of Windows ever to be released, and their philosophy now is just about continuing updates more frequently. Rumour has it that their focus is also now on producing an entirely new operating system based more upon the Unix platform. Whether true or not, we’re in for some big changes in the next year or two from Microsoft. But back to the point. In order to support my clients better, and also to give those who may be interested across the globe the opportunity to join us and create a thriving and informal group, I am currently in the process of creating the new sister to Mac Access. It will be called, predictably enough, I guess, “Android-Access”. When we’re up and running, there will be a mailing list similar to Mac Access. And, as a sister to Techno-Chat, I am going to be rolling out a group where enthusiasts of radio and TV can come and discuss their passion. Radio in particular is a very broad-ranging topic. Anything from broadcast radio to Internet radio, PMR, CB radio and amateur radio is welcome. We’ll see how popular or otherwise that becomes but, if it is appropriate I may even sub-divide that into two or more groups of specific interest. But first thing’s first. Android Access is being put together as I write and if you feel like spreading the word once we’re live, that would be very much appreciated. More coming soon. ======================================== My compliments and kindest regards Gordon Smith: <[email protected]> Accessibility & Information Technology Support Specialist..
