I bought a quantity of 100 1N4937 diodes for $9.00. They cross to an ECG (NTE) 552. They actually run cooler than the OEM.
Most of the time IC500 has escaped damage even though most of the leads are broken loose from the board. I've done a couple of those B8's in the last few days and I replace both + and - rectifiers with my nifty replacements and then replace the 1 ohm resistor feeding D445 because it's usually been stressed even if it hasn't opened. The total cost of my parts is around 23 cents.
Make sure you do a good solder job in the vertical area and if you still have problems suspect the TDA9302H over the caps. So far I've never seen a bad vertical cap in one of those sets as is usually the case with most TV's
