Make: RCA Model: F35700SB Chassis: CTC 169BD5 Problem:: Overdriven red on OSD and printing. pix looks good otherwise. Set also goes into red screen w/ retrace ONLY during channel change
We changed out the main IC TA8680N U1001 with a replacement; TA8680BN.
. No change but we lost all color. Had to sub in (B&D recommended sub TA8680BN, as OEM was NLA.) Replaced it with original and color came back- (defective new IC.)
Replaced U3101 SC420111P (Thanks to Mark W for the part!), No change.
Pin 15 of U1001 goes up to 6.1 V when channel changed.
Swapped red & blue on CRT bd and problem moved. That eliminated it back to the U1001.
Could we be dealing with a eeprom problem?
Any guesses? (Concrete post is being dented from banging my head on it.) thanks, Frank
