I knew that, Joe. If it was a bad laser, or a different type of problem, I'd junk it in a minute, but we should be able to fix one that has a dead set condition. It looks like a pretty nice unit, to me. We have to keep trying to fix some of this stuff,....even though the manufactures seem to be working against us.

I have +12 volts to N302 ( LM324N ) on power supply board, but no outputs from N302. Not sure of the purpose of this IC. Also, out of the plug, I have +7 volts, +4.8, - 15, and -20. These voltages are also present at the front panel plug. I know I shouldn't be trying to fix these RCA DVDs, but,....not much else to work on right now. Working without a schematic as usual.
