Phone screen followed by In-person interview Need two professional references from recent projects Submit only local resources Title : WebLogic Administrator [8+ Yrs] Location : Minnesota Duration : 6 Months WebLogic Administrator/Middleware Systems Programmer Principal within our Information Services and Technology Department. POSITION PURPOSE: 1. Installing, enhancing, and configuring complex system software and utilities without impact to the application and production environment 2. Providing technical guidance to the System Support, Application Programming and Operations staff 3. Analyzing, planning and implementing technical software as necessary 4. Maintaining integrity and performance of Online transaction processing and communications software 5. Providing project leadership when required. ACCOUNTABILITIES: 1. Installs enhances, and corrects middleware system software, system utilities, and operating system software without direct supervision, 2. Informs Systems Support, Application Development and Operations staff of middleware software compatibility and features. 3. Defines standards and controls for use of features. 4. Provides the Systems and Development staff with technical expertise, tools, utilities and programs assisting in the efficient development and operation of application systems 5. Analyzes, plans and implements complex technical software as necessary 6. Monitors system performance and partners Is responsible for system performance monitoring and with appropriate personnel to carry out corrective action when necessary, including recommendations for changes to hardware, software systems and application architecture changes 7. Maintains middleware software, communications software, making configuration changes and enhancements as necessary 8. Evaluates the technical performance of newly acquired/generated products or systems with appropriate testing and analysis to minimize risk to production systems 9. Leads technical projects, as necessary 10. Provides direction and mentoring to other Middleware Systems Programmers and related positions. 11. Maintains an up-to-date knowledge of computer technology, including hardware, software and data communication. 12. Provides detailed technical evaluations and recommendation regarding new and innovative techniques. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology 2. 7+ years experience in data processing 3. 7 Years of OOA/D (Unix, C/C++, shell) 4. 6 Years of hands-on Java, EJB, J2EE, JSP, XML, UML, JMS 5. 5 Yrs of BEA WebLogic v8/9.2 6. 2 Yrs of BEA WebLogic Portal 7. Expertise in BEA WebLogic Platform with emphasis on WebLogic Portal (WLP). 8. Understand scalability, reliability etc. 9. Understand Object Oriented (OO) methodologies and design practices 10. Excellent troubleshooting skills and knowledge of WLDF (WebLogic Diagnostic Framework) and other performance and capacity tolls such as ClearApp QuickVision. 11. Excellent knowledge of J2EE standards, design patterns and best practices. 12. Must be proficient and have hands-on experience with BEA WebLogic Portal and BEA Weblogic Portal administration to the JSR168 and WSRP standards. 13. Expertise with providing Application Programming Support and consultation regarding the design, information architecture, and user interface design for portals. 14. Knowledge of internals of BEA WebLogic Portal: API/Framework, BEA WebLogic Workshop, Servlet Authentification, XML Schema, X-Beans and building Java Controls. 15. Knowledge must include JSP, JPF, Workshop Controls, Java Applets, Portal Framework (skins, skeletons, layouts, shells, themes, personalization, internationalization, etc.) 16. Understanding of portals and workplace technical software components, including portal software and collaboration, Web content management, document management, identity management, etc. 17. Understanding of security architecture; messaging between the Web-based portal and legacy systems; configuration, optimization, and administration of the portal and application servers; testing support. 18. Ability to integrate with third party commercial products and to develop APIs to integrate and interface with these products. 19. Excellent verbal and written communication skills across all technical skill levels and hierarchical levels. 20. Experience mentoring and providing consultation to junior level staff. 21. Superior organizational skills and attention to detail, excellent problem solving and analytical skills 22. Thorough understanding of clustered environment. Experience Migrating, Deploying, Performance Tuning, including but not limited to tuning Heap Size, Execute Threads, CPU Utilization, Connection Pool, JMS Configuration, Cluster Configuration, and Load Balancing. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 1. System Software Release Management 2. Websphere and Apache experience 3. CVS experience and Application Release processes and tools (i.e. CruiseControl or like tools) 4.
