*Job Title:* *DB2 DBA* *Location:* *Minneapolis, MN* *Duration:* *6+ months Contract* *Note: Consultants who can attend F2F interview are preferred. * **Responsible for DB2 Z/OS database creation, implementation, testing, production support, maintenance, and troubleshooting for software applications.
*Essential Duties and Responsibilities*: Evaluates, installs and maintains DB2 Connect software and related software products. • Develops communications that persuade and influence target audience (e.g., discussion documents, proposals). • Sets up and maintains data structures and database environments to support production, performance and development activities. • Facilitates reusability and participates in the definition of operational standards for managing information assets. • Researches current and emerging technology trends pertinent to functional area • Provides DB2 support and utilizes troubleshooting and diagnostic tools. • Monitors, measures, and optimizes individual and combined utilization of hardware and software components. • Contributes to disaster recovery plan. • Performs other related duties as assigned. *Minimum Requirements:* • Extensive knowledge of the functions, features and benefits of DB2 V8 (Data Sharing) or higher and associated structures • Extensive knowledge of database design methods and techniques • Extensive knowledge of database security methods and procedures • Extensive knowledge of applications development and support (Cobol, REXX, CICS, SAS, JCL, Stored Proc and Utilities) • Extensive knowledge and skill in performance tuning • Extensive knowledge of techniques to define logical relationships among data, processes, or events • Considerable knowledge and expertise on strategic database platforms, structures, and migration considerations • Considerable knowledge of emerging technologies and distributed access to DB2 via DB2 Connect • Considerable knowledge of Unix, Windows and Java • Considerable knowledge of BMC utilities and admin products • Considerable knowledge of DB2 version upgrades • Skill in conducting tests to newly installed/upgraded software (Z/OS and Open Systems) • Skill in researching client needs, regulations, technologies, and data conditions • Skill in isolating and resolving complex problems and utilizing appropriate diagnostic tools • Ability to estimate, plan, manage, and communicate activities/deliverables of a mid-size project plan (i.e., a plan that affects a single system or product family and uses multiple resources) *Education:* • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience. * * *Experience:* • 5 + years experience in a DB2 Z/OS database analyst position. * * *Desired Qualifications:* • Knowledge of the financial services industry. *Please send resume to **di...@nam-it.com** or contact DILIP at ** 732-582-2700* *Thanks & Regards* DILIP NAM Info Inc.
