Role: Oracle Portal consultant
Level: Sr. (Minimum 8-9 yrs of relevant experience)
Duration:3~6mths
Location: Georgia
Student Portal project as part of an effort to 1) enhance Enrollment
Management's operations and business processes and 2) to provide our students
with quick, easy access to student related information. The project will be
lead by a project manager, but a timeline has net yet been established.
The information may come largely from Banner, our student and financial aid
information system, but could also possibly be derived from other data sources
(such as RSS feeds for news and weather).
We are seeking technical assistance for this effort. Listed below are some of
the requirements and characteristics we are seeking in a technical consultant.
We understand that it may not be possible to find all of these technical skills
in a single resource and we are willing to work around that if necessary. It
will be very important that the resource be able to "hand-off" to MCG at the
completion of their portion of the work. MCG will own and maintain this
application going forward.
We will need resource(s) with the following abilities and skill set:
* The ability to work without (close) supervision
* The ability to produce informative weekly status reports including
progress, issues or roadblocks
* The ability to analyze, design and develop the desired application, while
advising us of best practice methodologies to be utilized
Technical skills:
* Banner knowledge to facilitate data feeds
* Oracle portal experience
* Web programming skills -
JSR 168/WSRP, Java, J2EE experience (Desirable:
Struts/MVC architecture)
* Web content development skills
