DETAILED STATEMENT OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

1.      -Responsible for the timely, accurate and courteous delivery of
security services to Agency, Secretariat and Non Secretariat Staff.

2.       -Assumes personal responsibility to assure that all unit
business is conducted in a professional and cooperative manner.
3.      -Responsible to keep customers informed on the status of their
request and to assure customer satisfaction.
4.      -Responsible for the creation and maintenance of all user
accounts, groups, login scripts and access rights to all Network
Servers.
5.      -Responsible for the creation and maintenance of all user
accounts to all UNIX Servers 
6.      -Responsible for the creation and maintenance of all user
accounts, groups, jobs, and access rights to the Agency and
Secretariat's on-line statewide Network/Application specific Security
Systems including RACF, and Natural Security for Agency and Secretariat
Staff as well as Non Secretariat Staff.
7.      -Responsible for the creation and maintenance of all user
accounts for remote access 
8.      -Responsible for the creation and maintenance of all user
accounts, groups, roles, and access rights to the Agency and
Secretariat's PC Based applications both Agency/Secretariat developed
and off the shelf.
9.      -Responsible for the support and administration of security
access to all Remote Sites and Central Offices PC's, Printers, and
Peripherals related to LAN hardware and software. 
10.     -Responsible for the creation and maintenance of the security
inventory and maintenance of security records.
11.     -Responsible for Network Operating Systems security monitoring.
12.     -Assists in the design and testing of security systems to
accommodate user needs and makes changes to systems or programs to
improve performance and to ensure compliance with security standards.
13.     -Assists in the training of personal in security procedures.
14.     -Assists in the development, maintenance, issuance and
monitoring of security standards and procedures by reviewing
State/Federal      regulations.
15.     -Responsible to communicate all system security related issues
to Agency, Secretariat, or Non Secretariat staff through channels set
forth by the Unit Manager. 
16.     -Responsible for monitoring and reporting to the Unit Manager of
any actual or potential breach in Security.
17.     -Responsible for the maintenance of quarterly preparation,
dissemination and revision of the UAID.
18.     -Create and maintain statistical and narrative security reports
and prepare reports for audit requests.
19.     -Maintenance and enhancement of the Security Request form
(SCR-1) and other related security forms
20.     -Enforce confidentiality policy and security standards.
21.     -Perform as the liaison for systems security related issues
between Remote Sites, Central Office, and IT Operations Services as well
as with computer center personnel.
22.     -Acts as a consultant to users on such matters as
computer-augmented or business-oriented instructions, validity of
programs and assesses user's security needs.
23.     -Acts as a consultant to data processing personnel of other
Agencies or Departments determines suitability of Agency and Secretariat
programs or systems to meet specific needs and gives general advice and
direction to staff.
24.     -Responsible for the trouble shooting and escalation through
appropriate channels of all systems security related issues/problems
25.     -Assume personal responsibility to maintain technical
proficiency.
26.     -Responsible to perform related duties as required. 
27.     -Responsible for the establishment and enforcement of business
procedures and workflow consistent with internal control guidelines and
best practices.
28.     -Determine staffing needs and proper allocation of staff to work
function, schedule duty rosters, and proper allocation of staff to
ensure that all duty stations are properly staffed.
29.     -Perform technical consulting and provide assistance to data
processing personnel of other agencies or departments, determine
suitability of agency and secretariat programs or systems to meet
specific needs and give general advice and direction to staff.
30.     -Assist in the investigation of security breaches and assist
with legal matters associated with such breaches as necessary.
31.     -Work with outside consultants as appropriate for independent
security audits.
32.     Provide Supervision to other Security Staff
