Position: Java Software Engineer

Location: St. Louis, Missouri

Duration: 12 months plus

Software Engineer

 

-        Primary responsibilities include some developing, unit testing and 
implementing J2EE applications and maintaining technical documentation and 
automated tests throughout the project lifecycle.

-        Work with onshore and offshore technical leads to confirm and 
substantiate functional and technical designs. 

-        Learn and deploy new technologies as needed. 

-        Work with PM onshore and tech leads onshore and offshore to prioritize 
work load to meet multiple project deadlines. 

-        Adapt in a dynamic and collaborative work environment and make 
independent decisions.


Primary Skills: Strong Java/J2EE Spring GWT or struts Hibernate JUnit SQL Unix 
IntilliJ or RAD Experience Websphere/WAS Experience 6.1 Oracle 10G preferred 
Good Communication Skills Can Work Independently For the 2 J2EE Developers, it 
is not required that each individual possess all the skills in the primary 
section above. However, they must have multiple skills. The point is that all 
must be Strong J2EE Developers and possess a mix of the remainder of the 
skills. All should have Unix skills, RAD Experience and WAS experience. All 
should also have good communication skills and be able to work independently. 
Where you can mix and match is when it comes to Struts, Spring, Hibernate, 
JUnit and SQL. Word of caution though - our application does heavily use SQL 
and DB Views and having those skills will make their job much easier. 


Nice to Have 
Experience using Agile methodologies, including Test Driven Development 
Experience supporting legal/regulatory compliance such as PCI, SOX and GLBA. 
Experience with application security concepts and solutions 
Experience with the following technologies and/or tools: 
Subversion, Maven, JMS, AOP, JAAS 
Strong leadership skills and experience leading developers 
Financial and Payments Industry experience
