Job Description:
* Gathering and validating requirements using interviews,
document analysis, requirements sessions, storyboards, business process
descriptions, use cases, scenarios, event lists, business models, task
and workflow analysis, modeling, diagramming, and other methods.
* Documenting requirements and business knowledge from subject
matter experts using graphical and written techniques that include use
case scenarios and diagrams, functional requirements specifications,
activity and process diagrams, swim lane and sequence diagrams, business
process workflows, requirements traceability matrices, reporting
specifications, and metadata documentation.
* Decomposing high-level business and stakeholder requirements
into business requirements at an appropriate level of detail and writing
complete documentation according to standard templates, using clear,
concrete, and concise language.
* Quickly developing business knowledge about existing systems
and capabilities and applying this knowledge to stakeholder requirements
and data needs, including solution review and testing.
* Interpreting new and changing business requirements to
determine the impact on data warehouse design and proposing creative
enhancements and changes to meet these new requirements.
* Facilitating and participating in requirements prioritization,
including the use of active listening.
* Inventorying, categorizing, and prioritizing enterprise
reports and queries, including a basic knowledge of data
warehousing/business intelligence, Structured Query Language (SQL), data
modeling, and use of third normal form in database design.
* Developing relationships and acting as a point of contact for
requirements-related questions, including ability to work with a mixture
of personality types, following through on commitments, and tactfully
communicating sensitive information.
* Consulting with technical or functional experts at all levels
to promptly identify critical issues and develop problem solution
proposals.

Working in the Information Technology (IT) industry.

Employed as a business analyst for a software development or data
warehousing project.

Effectively identifying, gathering, documenting, and validating business
requirements with a variety of stakeholders.

Analyzing complex business problems and requirements, evaluating
existing business methods and processes, decomposing high-level
requirements, and recommending solutions.
7+
Expertly using Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Access, etc.) and
modeling and mapping tools (such as Visio).
Demonstrated
Experience acting in a consultative role to interpret customer business
needs and translate those needs into technical and operational
requirements.
Strong
Experience working successfully with technical and non-technical groups,
work independently with direction from a project manager, and manage
multiple responsibilities.
Strong
Outstanding oral and written communication skills and the ability to
interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and
subject matter experts.
Yes
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Business
or equivalent experience.
