*Position :         Data Warehouse Usage Steward*

*Location:         Charlotte, NC*

*Duration:         6 – 12 months*





*Roles & Responsibilities*

*Primary Focus:*



1) Monitors data quality, assures availability, investigates and applies
corrective actions to the Data Warehouse (DW)

2) Provide input to the Data Steward on data classification, definitions,
standards (including quality standards), related business rules, retention
and archiving requirements for the DW

3) Provide expertise as a SME  to include the DW and the  new ECS/Customer
Services applications  in relation to where the data is stored and how the
data is used both in reporting and analytics

4) Participate on ECS Core and Wow Now projects work is support of the ECS
strategy, EE and SAW initiatives and operational projects.

5) Coordinate DW clean-up efforts through the Customer Data Hub Support team
and work with representatives from the source systems for legacy CIS data
clean-up items

6) Catalog the DW tables using the Enterprise Architect tool



*Specific Responsibilities Include: *



1) Review and investigate errors on the BR_Hub and Staging tables for the
Data Warehouse.

    After problems are identified, they will be reported to IT through the
Picasso Remedy ticket process.

2) Work with key business stakeholders to develop common definitions for DW
entities, attributes and code values that are used in the data hub.

3) Assist project teams with the following Customer Hub DW deliverables:

4) Ensure appropriate Hub business requirements are developed (technical
table(s), hub error reporting and purging requirements) for the DW.

    The project team will develop the requirements and the Usage Steward
will review and approve them.

5) Ensure the appropriate errors reports are created for the DW by the
project teams and that the reports identify all errors to the Hub.

    Notify the Customer Reporting Services Group (Don Kodrich) of any
changes or additions to the Hub error reports through a Picasso Remedy
ticket

6) Work with the project team and provide expertise with data mapping for
the DW.

Ensure the final data DW mapping has been updated in the Customer Hub
mapping document and that the entities/attributes are added to the
Enterprise Data Stewardship subject area/mapping documentation.

7) Ensure the project team has a test strategy for the Hub and their test
plans fully tests the new tables &/or attributes, the error reports and
purging through database verification and entry and completion of specific
legacy orders/functions.

    Usage Steward will review and approve the test strategy and test plans
to ensure the appropriate level of testing proposed.

8) Perform high level DW verification testing (in conjunction with the
project team’s hub testing) and approve the DW testing for implementation.

9) Ensure the purge programs are in place for the BR_Hub and Staging tables
and that the routine removes the appropriate DW error rows.
