Postion : web developer/designer who have worked with Event handling and web
2.0 technologies
Location : Pleasanton, California ( MUST BE LOCAL)
Rate : $40ph
This position performs programming, integration and maintenance services in
support of e-commerce and web networking business activities. The position
also participates in technical and architectural-solution design and
decision-making and recommends technical solutions for business problems or
opportunities. Finally the position includes responsibility for the testing
and quality assurance of web solutions and the alignment of the solutions
with industry standard best practices. The Web 2.0 Engineer reports to the
Director, Web Systems.

- Make relevant in social networks using Web 2.0 technologies
- Help define Web 2.0 strategy for reaching younger demographic of
customers.
- Stay abreast and up to date on the latest Web technology changes.
*MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES *
- Assists users, customers and business partners to maximize the benefit
from use of Web 2.0 technology and functionality
- Understands and enhances the role of the web in Shaklee’s business
success, championing ideas and capabilities regarding its evolution.
- Designs, codes, tests, debugs, documents and maintains:
- E-commerce, web networking and open source applications using
technologies such as PHP, XHTML, JavaScript., Flex, and Flash.
- User interfaces using technologies such as AJAX, XML, CSS, Flex and
Flash.
- Evaluates, installs, configures and maintains:
- Third party software applications
- Third party services and web-based functionality (e.g. widgets) from
SaaS vendors.
- Provides off-hour, on-call support as needed according to schedule.
- Effectively interacts and efficiently manages third party vendor
technical personnel.
*POSITION REQUIREMENTS*
* *
- Proven experience with web design and development using Web 2.0
concepts (e.g. Google, face book), technologies, techniques and standards
across varying platforms and browsers.
- Expert CSS and JavaScript coding. Understands the complexity of
designing sites with cross browser support (Safari, IE, Firefox, Opera,
Chrome).
- Proven experience with technical documentation including ability to
communicate repeatable processes for building, archiving, installing,
configuring, and custom third party software applications.
- College or technical degree in Computer Science or related fields, or
equivalent experience.
- Must be able to work well under pressure.
- Must work well with others.
- Personal qualities:
- Forceful, creative champion for adoption and implementation of new
web technologies and capabilities.
- Self-starting personality, unafraid to display initiative and
innovation on the job.
- Strong communication skills including listening abilities.
- Team player willing to share ideas with the ability to contribute to

- Ability to multi-task and handle multiple priorities and business
partner expectations.

*ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS (A PLUS*):
· Fluency with multiple languages, including Japanese, Chinese, Spanish
or French
· Experience with offshore development.
· Facebook and OpenSocial coding experience.
· Experience using DOJO, EXTJS, YUI, GWT, XForms, REST, SOAP
