This will also require reporting of backup success, failure and amounts backed up by client. * * *Skills:* Need someone with expert level knowlege and experience in the administrationof shared storage systems such as SAN, NAS, and SATA. Ability to excel in a high-profile, high-demand environment. Expert knowledge of IBM Tivoli Storage Manager and Symantec Net-backup architecture and software. Expert knowledge of IBM and Sun/STK tape libraries Enterprise distributed environments. Enterprise data center migrations, virtualization and consolidation. Planning, designing and creating backup solutions Working knowledge of Project Management tools, including Microsoft Project, Microsoft Excel, and word documents. Able to work with all levels of management to complete projects successfully. Meeting facilitation. Business Analysis. Requirements Gathering. Developing detailed cost estimates. Financial analysis. Expert problem solving skills and making recommendations and implementing solutions to resolve those problems. Utility/Energy business acumen. *Infrastructure technologies including: * Unix (Sun & AIX), Wintel, VMware/ESX, Citrix/MetaFrame, Web (IIS & WebLogic), Shared Storage (SAN, NAS, SATA) & Veritas. Directory Services (Active Directory, LDAP, DNS, etc.). Messaging, Microsoft Exchange. Understand architectural design challenges, concepts and solutions. Business continuity and disaster recovery. High availability and clustering. ****While not directly managing others, this role will require the management of the end-to-end architectural backup design process. * * *Other info:* Reach appropriate conclusions and take sensible action on the basis of thorough analysis and past experience. Sound judgment to determine when and at what level it is appropriate to assume operational and technical decision-making responsibility. Apply thoroughness to all aspects of work and continually seeks solution/service improvement. Able to focus energies on different ways to provide/present a solution while maintaining awareness of the overall "Big Picture" when performing analysis/solution design, to ensure overall objectives are not compromised. Develop and uses analysis effectively in order to substantiate value of assumptions and design. Make effective use of facts and supporting analysis while developing solutions for appropriate situation/problem as well as the identification and management of information sources. ***Must be adept at architectural design for backup infrastructure to ensure backups for all applications are completed in a timely manner while following the required ITIL processes.
