Position: Senior Security (Juniper) Engineer
Location: Washington DC
Duration: 12 months
Task Description:
Monitor, configure, and provide up to Tier III troubleshooting for the USAID
firewall/VPN systems and Blue Coat content filtering solution. Provide
engineering support, in coordination with network engineers to meet changing
network infrastructure requirements while maintaining proper security for
traffic flows. Review, audit, and update firewall rulebases; implement VPN
tunnels.
Troubleshoot wide area network communications problems related to firewalls,
VPNs and routing. Communicate with technicians around the world with varying
levels of English language and technical proficiency. Communicate technical
detail very well in writing, so as to communicate with mission personnel
around the globe and other team members on different shifts.
Must be able to work extended or modified hours as required.
It is preferred that the candidate holds industry certifications in the
above technologies, such as Juniper Networks Certified Internet Specialist
(Firewall/VPN) [JNCIS-FWV], Juniper Networks Certified Internet Associate
(Firewall/VPN) [JNCIA-FWV], Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA).
Must be able to work well independently and as part of a team. Must have
good communication skills. Some local travel required.
Required Skills:
Hands-on experience with Juniper Netscreen firewalls, Juniper NSM, Bluecoat
content filters, Blue Coat Director and Blue Coat Report
Preferred Certifications
(1) JNCIS-FWV
(2) JNCIA-FWV
(3) BCCPA, or BCCPP
Skill level must be such that the candidate is able to handle most problems
independently. The candidate must be able to demonstrate a strong knowledge
of networking as well as an understanding of proxies and content filtering
appliances
Restrictions: (1) Must possess Secret Clearance or higher, Top Secret
preferred
