Job Description:
The responsibility of this position is to develop a suite of vertical
WebPages. The web developer will build WebPages for 28 (or more) vertical
websites. The web developer will also create social media features,
including:
§ Registration email import
§ Widgets
§ External Sociable Icons
§ Sociable Share (Twitter, Facebook, Digg, Technorati, etc)
§ Save and Send (Bookmark, email, etc)
§ RSS
§ Email Newsletters
§ Mobile Apps
§ Coupons
§ Forum Invitations
§ Community Notifications
§ Viral (submit photos/stories/video)
This position will design and develop applications using the following
technologies: PHP 5, PHP Zend Framework, HTML, CSS, Perl, JSP, XML SOAP for
web services, HTML/DHTML, and JavaScript with AJAX. Design, implement and
audit security over SSL.
Required skills:
Experience and confidence in creating new code in the following languages:
HTML, XML, PHP 5, Perl, SQL, PL/SQL, CSS, JavaScript, Unix shell scripts,
JSP/JSTL
Apache (Tomcat, Unix), SQL plus, SQL Loader, PL/SQL Developer, AJAX, PHP
Zend Framework, Subversion
Oracle, MySQL
- Have worked on high volume, high traffic large scale web site
development (An example would be like an aa.com large volume website or a
website that receives at least 750,000 Unique Visitors (UVs) to 1 million
per month. The client’s IYPs average is between 5 and 10 million UVs per
month.)
- Professional experience with social media applications (not just user
experience)
- Someone who would NOT require direction but instead have a vision to
work collaboratively with our Marketing team to build the new sites from
scratch.
- Things that should be evident on the resume are: No personal
website, no personal usage of social media, very limited implementation of
social media in work environment, etc.
- Looking for a candidate who is very familiar with the social media
tools, uses them, and has experience in building social interactive
environments in customer facing websites.
- Candidate should have opinions on what works and what doesn't work.
- This project requires the candidate actively participate from a site
design perspective, not just working requirements.
- Have worked on Social Network features
- External Sociable Icons
- Sociable Share (Twitter, Facebook, Digg, Technorati, etc)
- Have worked with PHP Zend Framework
- Have worked with HTML and CSS
- Have worked for large companies
- Have done enterprise integration points before
- BS in computer science or related discipline
- Implemented SEO best practices
Desired skills:
- Knows Scrum (or other agile) software development methodology
- Ability to work independently as a part of cross-functional teams.
- Familiarity with Subversion SCM tool
- Ability to prioritize work on multiple projects and estimate level of
effort for required tasks.
- General understanding of common Internet Advertising business models.
