Description:
Essential Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
"The position will require the successful candidate to be able to multi task
across numerous projects including but not limited to Raytheon, Lockheed,
NFCP, Lynx and Quantum. As such will need to prioritise and manage work
load accordingly.
The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for delivering key
parts of the projects assigned to them.
. The ability to follow standards and processes (such as
change and release management) is a must for this role.
. Ability to work with large groups / teams and
individually with minimum supervision.
. Prioritise and mange work load accordingly to achieve
the required dead lines
. Ability to multitask, and work under pressure with changing priorities
is essential to this role.
. Be self-motivated and self-reliant.
. The successful candidates will posses good communication skills (both
written and verbal) and excellent interpersonal skills.
. A background in a busy operational or service delivery environment would
also be advantageous.
Additional Information: (e.g. Shift Resource, % work that is development
vs. maintenance, etc.)
An advantage for the successful candidate to have is experience in both
Solaris and Windows operating systems.
Qualification:
Education: BS degree Preferred
Required Skills (Must have), Necessary industry Experience & associated
number of years of experience:
". Windows 2003 Installation / Administration. . MS Clustering. . Active
Directory Administration. . Solaris Installation / Administration including
v10. Solaris package management. Solaris Jumpstart.
. Excellent understanding of IP networking and firewall technologies. .
Produce service documentation for support to the required high standard. .
ITIL Based release management / change process.
Desired Skills (Nice to have in addition to the Required Skills), Necessary
industry Experience & associated number of years of experience:
". Veritas Clustering. . SAN configuration on UNIX and Wintel OS. Server
PCI cards inculding Emulex HBA
. Tivoli suite of management products such as GMI. . MacAfee anti virus
suite. . Automated patch deployment.
. Patching of both UNIX and Wintel OS.
. Web server technologies such as IIS / Apache.
.Database knowledge such as MS SQL.
. Virtualisation technologies such as VMware.
. Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) certification.
. Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) certification.
. Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA) certification.
. Sun Certified System Administration. Windows 2008 Installation /
Administration
Any Certifications Required:
